The Old School House sits on a hill. Most rooms are on the ground floor (this is the old boys school, and the head-master's house) - and this level is accessed from the Rue des Anciennes Ecoles which runs up to the village square nearby.
The lower level is the garden level.
The rooms on the ground floor are, facing East:

Let's go downstairs to the Garden Room . . . .
The Master Bedroom is spacious, airy and light.
This bedroom has terrific views out over the garden at the back of the house, and over the vineyards below to the far hills of St Emilion.
On a clear day, the Bordeaux Bridge is visible in the centre distance.
A double room overlooks the inner cloister and pool. It's a wonderful, light and airy room. What's even better, there's an ensuite toilet and walk-in shower with this room!
Completely refurbished in 2017, this is a fantastic bedroom to choose!
The Church clocktower is fairly close, so the bells are
noticeable (especially if you want to sleep with the wondows
open). I'm a light sleeper, so I use earplugs - and this is
my favouirte room in the home.
Just beside the double is a newly-refurbished twin bedroom. It is street-facing, and as there is little traffic on this lane overnight, it's very quiet.
Also east facing, so cool from the sun.
A wonderful and luxurious bathroom is just beside this twin - designed to be either "en suite", or as an additional facility for the whole house.

On those days when the sun isn't out, everyone seems to gather in the kitchen.
The chunky wooden table has been host to many an animated conversation and is a great place for everyone to gather and plan the day ahead.
Some of the family look forward to modernising the kitchen. It's perhaps 10 years old and in British rather than French style - yet for me, it has everything needed and simply works. As all the electrical equipment is new, it's a great place to prepare meals in and the copious cupboards mean that the host of utensils and cookware hide away easily.
